Las Vegas remains one of the top destinations for summer travel, although it ranks just behind Orlando, according to the American Society of Travel Agents.
For the eighth year in a row, Orlando and Las Vegas took the top spots in ASTA’s summer travel survey, the organization announced this week. Orlando came out on top with 17.7 percent of booked travel, and Las Vegas maintained the second spot with 16.2 percent.
Other cities rounding out the top 10 were San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, Honolulu, Seattle and Washington, D.C.
Florida was the top state destination for the 2010 summer season, accounting for 24.5 percent of all responses. Nevada drew the second-largest number of responses, a 16.3 percent share with almost all of the travel to Las Vegas. California, New York and Hawaii rounded out the top five states for summer travel.
Orlando has been the top summer travel destination since 2001, according to ASTA.
